Food is the most important thing for our health. Food provides us all the essential nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients help us in physical growth, to maintain our body and essential for our life. Our health, our energy level, even our thinking depends on what kind of food we choose to eat. If your age is above 25 years then you must have consumed almost 30,000 meals in your life. Your body is made up of all those small meals. Every food you eat affects your overall health in some way. If you choose the right food, it will nourish you. If you choose the wrong food, it will destroy you. Your health depends on your food choice, and your food choice depends on your knowledge of nutrition. In simple words, your health depends on your knowledge.

As you know that heart diseases, Alzheimer, cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases are rapidly increasing worldwide. You also know that the global literacy rate is increasing much faster than ever. So, the question is, if literacy rate is increasing then why are we not able to control the increasing diseases. The answer is simple; our education is not complete. We learn so many things in school as the distance between earth and moon, history of first world war, how to operate a computer but we don’t learn much about our own body, which is the most important thing. If you know everything about the world but know nothing about your own body and mind; it is meaningless. You can see highly educated people all around you who can explain everything about deep oceans of the earth and aliens living on distant stars, but they don’t know what should we eat to maintain overall health. It is not possible to live a happy life without good health, and the knowledge of food and nutrition is essential for this. Without a healthy life, all advancements are meaningless.

There is too much knowledge available on the internet, websites, YouTube channels, and magazines about nutrition. Most of these available knowledge is not scientifically tested. This kind of knowledge leads us to wrong perception about food. Then here comes these food companies who try to brainwash us through different advertisements. All this confusion results in the wrong selection of foods and finally poor health. I want to provide you a complete scientific knowledge so you can choose your food wisely and live healthily.

Nutrition is a science and basic knowledge of biology and chemistry is required to understand it precisely. But I have designed this e-book in a way that you don’t need any prerequisite knowledge to understand it. Every concept is explained in a step by step and easy to understand manner, using a simplified language.
